Editoryal politika ve metodoloji
Dental treatment abroad is a health decision. This page says who writes what you read on Clinicest, where the facts and prices come from, what “reviewed” does and does not mean, and how to tell us when we are wrong.
What Clinicest is — and is not
Clinicest is an independent information and matching service for people considering private dental treatment in Istanbul, Turkey. It is not a dental clinic, it does not employ dentists and it does not provide treatment or medical advice. Any treatment is agreed between you and a clinic.
Who writes the content
Guides, treatment pages and cost pages are written by the Clinicest Editorial Team. They are not written by, and are not the opinion of, a named dentist.
No dental professional reviews this content yet. Until one does, every page says “not yet reviewed by a dental professional”. When a registered dentist reviews a page, we will name them, state their qualification and registration, and date the review — we will not use a reviewer’s name we cannot show.
Where facts and sources come from
- Regulatory and safety statements are drawn from official or professional sources — for example the UK General Dental Council’s advice on going abroad for dental treatment and GOV.UK’s entry requirements for Turkey — and each page lists the sources it used.
- A source is listed only after we have opened the page and read the statement we cite. Each entry shows the date we accessed it.
- Where we cannot find a reliable source for a claim, we leave the claim out rather than soften it.
How prices are shown
- UK figures are ranges taken from price guides published by UK dental providers. Those guides are commercial pages, so we show at least two where they exist, name them, and say when only one is available. We do not publish a UK range we cannot source.
- Turkey figures are Clinicest reference ranges. They are not quotes and have not yet been confirmed by partner clinics; we will replace them with clinic-confirmed price lists as clinics join.
- Every range states its unit — per implant, per arch, per veneer, per course — because a price without its unit cannot be compared. We show two ranges side by side and do not publish a headline “saving” percentage.
- Euro amounts are shown with an indicative sterling conversion, not a live exchange rate. Prices are indicative and may vary depending on examination, treatment plan and included services.
What “last reviewed” means
It is the date the Editorial Team last re-checked the page’s wording, figures and sources. It is not a medical review and not a guarantee that nothing has changed since.
Clinic verification: standard versus status
We have published the standard a clinic must meet before it is listed: a valid practice licence, a confirmed sterilisation and hygiene standard, named and credentialed dentists, and an on-site or documented audit. A verification badge reflects that check at the time it was granted; it is not a guarantee of outcome.
At the moment no clinics are listed on Clinicest, so no clinic has been verified under it yet. We will not describe a clinic as verified until it has been through the process, and we do not publish clinic reviews or before-and-after cases until they exist and have been checked.
How Clinicest is funded
Clinicest is free for patients. It is designed to be paid by partner clinics — a commission when a patient we introduced completes treatment, and clinic subscriptions. That means we have a commercial interest in patients going ahead, which is why we source price and risk information independently of clinics and encourage you to compare more than one written treatment plan.
Corrections
If you think something on Clinicest is wrong, out of date or misleading, email hello@clinicest.com with the page address and, if you can, a source. We check the claim, correct the page and update its review date. If we cannot support a claim, we remove it.
