Dental Implants in Turkey: Cost, Process & UK Patient Guide
Short answer
A dental implant is a titanium post set into the jawbone to hold a replacement tooth. In Turkey the timeline varies by clinic and case, so the questions that matter most are which implant system is used, what the warranty covers and who deals with problems once you are home.
Reference range in Turkey: €450–900 (about £387–774) per implant, with abutment and crown. UK private price guides: £1,800–4,500 per implant, with abutment and crown.

Who dental implants are for
An implant replaces the root of a missing tooth with a small titanium post, which then supports a crown, a bridge or a denture. They are usually considered by people who are missing one or more teeth, have healthy gums and enough jawbone (or are willing to have bone rebuilt first), and can commit to the follow-up. Smoking, poorly controlled diabetes and untreated gum disease raise the risk of an implant failing — tell your dentist about all three.
How the treatment works
- Assessment. X-rays or a 3D scan check the bone and plan where each implant goes. You should see the plan before you agree to anything.
- Preparation. A tooth that cannot be saved may be removed first, and thin bone may need a graft.
- Placement. The implant is placed under local anaesthetic (sedation is sometimes offered).
- Healing. The bone needs time to bond with the implant. How long depends on the case and on the clinic's protocol.
- Abutment and crown. A connector and the final tooth are fitted. Some clinics fit a temporary tooth on the day of surgery.
Trips and timeline
Quoted timelines vary widely. A common pattern is one trip for placement and a temporary tooth, then a second trip for the final crown after healing; some clinics quote a single, longer stay. Neither is automatically right or wrong — but ask for the exact schedule in writing, what is fitted when, and the clinical reason for the timeline you are given. A bone graft usually adds time.
Risks and limits
- Infection or inflammation around the implant, and implants that do not bond with the bone.
- Nerve or sinus problems in some cases, and gum recession.
- Further surgery if something needs to be corrected.
Good planning reduces these risks; it does not remove them. Implant systems also use their own parts, so a dentist at home may not be able to service a system they do not work with. Ask which system is placed and whether parts and instructions are available in the UK.
Alternatives
- A dental bridge, which uses the neighbouring teeth as anchors.
- A partial or full denture.
- For a whole arch of teeth, All-on-4 supports a fixed bridge on four implants.
- Leaving the gap, which is a legitimate choice for some people.
Turkey and the UK
The price comparison above uses the same unit on both sides. See the full implant cost comparison for the sources, and the cost of every treatment. The price does not tell you about quality: compare what is included, the implant system, the warranty and the dentist.
What to check before you book
- The name of the dentist who will place the implants, and which professional body they are registered with — in Turkey this is normally the Turkish Dental Association. Ask to see the registration.
- The implant system and brand, in writing, and the warranty terms.
- Exactly what the quote includes: scans, extractions, grafting, temporary tooth, the final crown, follow-up visits.
- What happens, and who pays, if something needs correcting after you have flown home.
Aftercare when you are back in the UK
Take your records, scans and the exact implant details home, and tell your own dentist your plans before you travel. Our guide to dental aftercare when you return to the UK covers what to bring, what to ask and when to seek help.
Fiyatı ne etkiler
- Implant system and brand — ask which one, and whether the warranty is written down.
- Bone quality and whether a bone graft or sinus lift is needed.
- Number of implants, and whether crowns are in the quote or extra.
- Imaging and any extractions or gum treatment needed first.

Sıkça sorulan sorular
How much does a dental implant cost in Turkey?
Clinicest’s reference range in Turkey is €450–900 per implant, with abutment and crown (about £387–774). Published UK private price guides quote £1,800–4,500 per implant, with abutment and crown. These are indicative ranges, not quotes: the price you can rely on is the one in a clinic’s written treatment plan after it has examined you.
Is it safe to get dental implants abroad?
It depends on the clinic, the dentist and your own health, as it does anywhere. The UK General Dental Council advises speaking to your own dentist first, asking who will carry out the treatment and how they are regulated, and getting the warranty, aftercare and the cost of any remedial work in writing. It also notes that it cannot guarantee that standards abroad are the same as in the UK.
How many trips do I need for dental implants?
It varies. A common pattern is one trip for placement and a temporary tooth and a second for the final crown once the implant has healed, but some clinics quote a single longer stay. Ask for the schedule and the clinical reason for it in writing. A bone graft usually adds time.
What if I have a problem after I return to the UK?
Ask before you book: who pays for corrective work, including flights and hotel; how long the work is guaranteed; and whether further treatment is included in the initial cost. Also ask which implant system was used and get a copy of your records, so a UK dentist can see exactly what was placed.
