Root Canal Treatment in Turkey: Cost, Process & UK Patient Guide

Short answer

Root canal treatment removes infected or damaged tissue from inside a tooth so it can be kept rather than extracted. It can often be started and finished within a short stay, but a crown normally follows — so check whether it is included.

What root canal treatment is for

When the soft tissue inside a tooth is infected or damaged, the dentist cleans out the inside of the tooth, disinfects it and seals it, so the tooth can stay in place. The alternative is usually to have the tooth removed and replaced with an implant or bridge.

Is it painful?

The treatment is normally carried out under local anaesthetic. Some soreness afterwards is common; if pain or swelling gets worse, contact your dentist or clinic promptly.

Trips and timeline

Often one or two visits within a short stay. Complex teeth — especially molars — can take longer, and a crown is normally fitted afterwards to protect the tooth.

Risks and limits

  • Some teeth cannot be saved, and some treated teeth need re-treatment or later removal.
  • A treated tooth can become brittle, which is why a crown usually follows.
  • Infection that is not fully cleared can return.

Turkey and the UK

Prices are per tooth and rise with the number of canals. We do not have a sourced UK price range, so the cost page shows only the Turkey reference range. If you have a painful tooth now, seeing a dentist locally is often quicker than planning a trip.

What to check before you book

  • Which tooth, and whether it is a first treatment or a re-treatment.
  • Whether the crown that normally follows is in the price.
  • What happens if you need further treatment after you return.

What affects the price

  • Which tooth — molars have more canals and cost more.
  • Whether it is a first treatment or a re-treatment.
  • Whether the crown that usually follows is in the quote.
